New Experiences in Thailand: Learning the Social and Culture in Farm House at Bann Suan Suk Jai, Lamphuun Province

On Dec 21-24th, 2017. The IGOV student who studying in Maejo University (MJU) gets a very good experiences and important for exchange student who want to know about social and culture in Thailand, this agenda held by School of Administrative Studies, MJU for 4 days 3 nights in one of the village of lamphuun province. this activity followed by 7 student (Al Fauzi Rahmat, Indriani Mahbubah, Lola Tri Anjani, Ghea Obisva, Novita Wulandari, Tri Siska Putri Anjeli and Yovita Mandasari). The aims of this agenda are to know the student about the social and culture in the farm house (this name of as live). In farm house the student have foster parent called “Mamy and Dady”.




In the schedule, the student has many agenda for 4 day 3 nights to carry out. The first day of the activity started at 14.30-16.30 the student taught about the plan watering, egg collection, farm wandering, then at 18.30 -19.00 student for welcome diner (organic local recipe) with Mamy and Dady and the 20.30 is private time each student. The second day, at 07.30-08.30 after breakfast the student learn to make Thai food and dessert cooking workshop and taught to make the red flower petals previously plucked, some of dishes will serve the student to lunch at 12.30-13.30, for the night at 18.30 - 20.00 we were invited city tour to surround the several area in lamphuun province and visit the night market.





The third day we were taught egg collection and watered the plants around in the farm house, then at 09.30 we were invited to visit wat prathai hariphunchai and the other traditional market before returning to farm house, at the afternoon, the student was break and continued tomorrow. In the morning we were taught egg collection and cook again, the results of it to obtained then arrived at 16.30.17.3 we have an agenda by making traditional Thai food taught by Ajarn Teng who come the student activities at the farm house. For the last day we were taught to cook typical Thai food and drinks from jasmine flower skin as red tea, at 09.30 the next schedule we were taught how to gardening and watering and picking various leaves to serve as a side dish for dinner, the next day we returned in dormitory to prepare everything in support of learning then.




Important:  in the farm house the student use the gesture of speech with Dady and Mamy, because cannot speak English, you can IMAGINE LOL. So excited and difficult in making a sentence by demonstrating with some nearby object.
